The God Chasers: "My Soul Follows Hard After Thee

Wow, so it's definitely been FOREVER since I've posted! So we'll start where I left off. The weekend before Spring break was rather nice...everyone had already left to enjoy their spring break while I had to stay behind for a choir concert that we were doing in Roanoke. I was upset about it at first cuz I was missing some of my spring break, but in so many ways I consider it a blessing. I had alot of alone time (quite necessary for survival, I do believe!), I got to do alot of shopping (which is the only way I like to shop: ALONE!), I got to meet some great people from the Roanoke Symphony and Orchestra choir--they're older people who are just singing because they love it. I hung around an older woman who went by "Tuggy"...meeting her, I now know exactly how I'm going to be when I'm older! *Trying to decide if that's good or bad * So once I got to Florida, it was great! There were some bumps that happened during the trip, but all in all it was just great. The weather turned out to be alot better than expected, the beach was great, my birthday was definitely fantastic, and I got alot closer to some of the guys in my brother dorm (you know who you are!) So now that I'm back here, things are rolling along smoothly. I've begun reading "God Chasers" by Tommy Tenney. Talk about an incredible book! If you want to read a book where you learn exactly what it means to seek God and follow after God, definitely read it. BUT don't read it if you want to be comfortable and feel satisfied with your spiritual walk, because that won't happen. Each page I read, I feel like I have to shift in my chair because I'm so uncomfortable reading it...I'm realizing that for me to have been a born-again Christian now for almost 15 years, I'm nowhere near where I need to be spiritually. But I know that doesn't matter right now because I'm really seeking God out. Not just His hands because I see His blessings He gives each day...I want to see His face, I want to see the blesser. I don't want to see the gifts anymore, I want to see the Giver Himself. That's where I am spiritually and it's turning out to be an uncomfortable journey that I know is going to rock my world! Till next time....

CLASSES ARE OVER AND IT'S OFFICIALLY SPRING BREAK!!! But do I get to celebrate? noooo....i'm stuck here on campus until TUESDAY MORNING...it's so sad, i think i should throw myself a pity party :( I have to stay for choir because we are doing a choir concert with the Roanoke Orchestra...it is always a great concert, but if it's between doing the concert and laying on the beach a few extra days to enjoy my spring break, i think i'd choose the latter one! But I'll get plenty of alone time and do some serious shopping because I got me some birthday moo-la that needs spending! yes, i said birthday....the big day is next Friday, the 18th. Some ppl get to the age where their birthday isn't a big deal, but not with me. Although I don't wanna celebrate mine this year cuz i'm going to be 20 years old...that sounds too old!! I will officially be out of my teen years. I guess I need to look at the bright side of things, huh? I get presents and birthday cake

So if this pic doesn't show, it was just a lil pic of me actually playing pool! It's the craze around here and I suck horribly at it, but I love trying... (or making the guys mad cuz I am not as competitive!) Anyways, that was a side note...

This weekend was wonderful, of course. Spent time with *cough cough* and he left on Sunday afternoon for home, but I may see him again later on this week. He just can't get enough  ! Actually that would be me, lol! Church was so great...Johnnie Moore and Dwayne Carson are 2 amazing pastors, that's for sure. Today was a BUSY day, but a huge blessing too! First of all, it was gorgeous outside. 70 somethin degrees, so I was finally able to be girly and wear a dress! I woke up on time, got ready in time, did well on all 3 of my tests, and enjoyed dinner with Judy. She's such a blessing to me. We're both trying for SLD next year (that's Spiritual Life Director...there's 2 on each hall and it's a position right underneath the RA's...had to explain for you out there who dont go to LU), so I'm really praying that we may can serve together. We balance each other very well! So I'm about to go to bed before I wake up and have another extremely long day...but the Lord is still good! :) Until next time...

Talk about an incredible weekend! It was so great to just get away for awhile, but not only that...the company I was with made it all worth while :) The highlight would be us going to eat at a restaurant and there was a picture of an old woman who was the founder of the place we ate at, and the picture and article was from years ago and the woman was old and scary-looking, so Lauren up and asks the older woman working at the cash register if that was her in the picture. The woman didn't think it was funny, but I sure laughed at that one! Ahh, good times :) So on to this week: NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY! Talk about a fun day. It was so great to come back from a great weekend and then have an extra day to just chill...Tuesday was spirit day, so we were able to wear jeans to class. Yall who read this and don't go to Liberty need to know that we have a dress code, so the day we can wear jeans to class is absolutely amazing. So that was a great day, too. Wednesday was kinda long, but church was really good. Today was a good day too, but nothing really exciting happened. Everyday has been good though, cuz I've gotten to spend some high qual time with a certain someone. He is quite the amazing guy and I'm loving spending time with him and getting to know him. No name will be revealed right now, but keep checking...it may be mentioned soon! Other than that, things are going just dandy. God is still showing me so much and I've been wondering why things have turned out differently than I thought, but God knows why I'm going down this certain road at this certain time in this certain way. That's good enough for me! Until next time...

Sorry it's been awhile since I've written...lots of stuff goin on! This week has been NUTS! Monday I have my 3 hour class and I have another 3 hour class on Tuesday as well...Tuesday night I had to go to Roanoke for a choir practice and I got to ride there with 3 incredible guys! I made a big mistake by not getting to know/introduce myself to 2 of them (I already knew one) because they are sweet, fun, amazing guys who really do love the Lord and have such a passion for music. Wednesday I had a big music theory test and a presentation for my education class, but I think I did well on those too...all in all, it's been a busy week but God is keeping me sane *just barely* I'm really excited about this weekend. Gettin to go to Wilmington with my girl Lauren and 2 cool guys, Trey and Ryan. FUN TIMES!! I'm just glad to get away for the weekend, ya know? I've been here since the middle of  January and haven't left, so it's about time I get outta hurr...oh yeah, and this weekend Brad Southards came in. I was SOOOO happy to see him! I miss him so much and can't wait for him to come back to LU next year. Okay so the weather outside is snowy/rainy/icy/slushy...basically, it's just gross so I'm gonna go get comfy and take a good, long winter's nap :)
